I would love to get my debts written off, both me and my husband are on debt management with two separate companies (long story) and it is going to take years to get them paid off. I don't care about the rights and wrongs as my bank wouldn't give a flying stuff about me. I am going to check this out later when i get home.

Thanks guys

I just don't get it. I have have a load of debt that yes, i did spend somebody else's money and i did accept the terms and conditions from my bank and various credit card companies but if there is a company that is saying "Write your debt off - No win no fee" what have i got to loose. If there is a loop hole in the law then shouldn't we all jump on the band wagon and get rid of the debt. I am currently on a debt management plan and it is going to take years for me to pay my debts off so I signed up yesterday to see what they can do.

Hi TJ

To be honest, I cant argue your point, there must be a an element of fairness about it. If you were to make a genuine mistake by not having enough money in your bank account and a standing order goes out, you will get a penalty charge which can be between £12.50 and £35.00 so yes, if they make a genuine mistake on your contract why shouldn't they be penalised for it. The law is there to protect both the creditor and their clients, it cannot be a one way street.

Surely it's one thing realising that there is a mistake on the contract and taking the creditor to task about it, and deciding that you do not want to repay money that has been borrowed on credit cards or loans and then finding away to get out of it. If someone was to do that to any one of us, wouldn't we be shouting from the roof tops that they are trying to steal meney from us?
